All submissions were diverse in style and creativity but often similar products were suggested. In order to choose the winners, appropriate marks were awarded for: ‘creativity, originality, clear understanding of the material and manufacturing processes, fitness for purpose and knowledge of the intended users’. There were some really interesting and dynamic responses to product development, including: motorsport safety, car bumpers, a space landing probe, speed bumps, cycling gear, boxing gloves and a non-crushable turban.
