Essentially my job is to create solutions to satisfy the desired requirements. Engineers innovate and then make their ideas real.
What excites you most about engineering?
The diversity of challenges that face us as engineers and the benefits that engineering provides to the world.
What’s the most important part of the engineering process?
Understanding the challenge and deciding upon the best approach to meet that challenge.

Alec Issigonis – designer of the original Mini.

Do you think sport is being changed by technology?
Most definitely. Performance is increasing, but also accessibility.
What is the best sport technology invention?
Tough Question…. From a professional sport stand-point, I will go with simulation and telemetry, allowing athletes to train in a controlled environment and analysing their performance. From a personal point of view, I would choose bicycle technology.

Lance Armstrong.
What’s the one thing you love most about your job?
Constantly being challenged to create elegant solutions that provide a performance advantage in the real world.
What is the future of sports technology?
Virtually limitless, especially as sports drive the technology directly, rather than simply benefiting from technology developed in other industries.
